C&P 2006 Don Grusin and Bill Sharpe
empowered by emusu.com
Don Grusin and Bill Sharpe have collaborated on a variety of musical tasks...as consultants, producers, (Bill's solo CD, 'State of the Heart',) and now....'Geography', contemporary jazz songs and instrumentals. co-composed and produced by this high profile team.

They asked a few of their favourite players and singers to join them. Till Broenner, the masterful Trumpet and Flugelhorn player from Berlin; Fridrik Karlsson (Mezzoforte) from Iceland on Guitar; Mornington Lockett from UK on saxophone; Violinist Charlie Bisharat, Saxophonist Nelson Rangell and singer Natali Rene from the states, (all featured in the Hang); Singer Jill Saward(Shakatak) from England.

This was the concept...two piano and keyboard players making one CD.....the choreography....two artists playing at the same time bringing lush, funk, groove and melodic sounds together in one project with the support of influences from US, Brasil, Europe, Africa.... decorated with great arrangements and solos...each song profiting from the combined talent of these two well known musicians, composers, producers and arrangers.

Geography; an experiment in a new way of recording..... utilizing the deep talent from 5 continents.
